How to Support Skate Across Indiana

Most people know by now that I created an annual charity skateboard ride called Skate Across Indiana. The purpose of the ride is to raise awareness and support for the great work Horizon International is doing in Africa with children who’ve lost parents to HIV/AIDS. As one can probably imagine, the success of an event like this is largely dependent on people to generously support the cause. For those that believe in the cause like I do, the question then becomes, “How do I support Skate Across Indiana?” Well, the answer is really simple and I’ve put together this post to help guide the people who want to help.

1) Donate

Obviously the main focus of Skate Across Indiana is fundraising for AIDS orphan programs. Those that would like to make a financial contribution are able to do so through a partnership we have with One Orphan Foundation. Simple click to visit the campaign page, click on the skater’s profile you’d like to support, click the “Sponsor Me” button and complete the skating donation form. The money raised will go to Horizon International’s programs

2) Buy a T-Shirt

New this year are the official Skate Across Indiana t-shirts. These shirts are available in small, medium, large, and extra large and are a 52% cotton, 48% polyester blend. Buying a shirt is a great way to show your support for the cause both financially and visually. To buy a shirt, click here.

3) Tell Friends & Family

A big need for Skate Across Indiana is always exposure, so that’s why I need people to donate their Facebook posts, tweets, and more to the cause. The more people that hear about Skate Across Indiana, the greater the likelihood is that we meet our fundraising goals. I encourage everyone to use the #SkateAcrossIndiana hashtag and to share links to the website and campaign pages. You can also share the trailer you see below.
