TAG Heuer’s $6,700 Cell Phone

Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer has, for many years, been recognized as a symbol of luxury and quality. It’s time-keeping products are some of the finest and most expensive in the world. The company is highly regarded for its innovations like the world’s first belt-driven wristwatch. Recently, TAG Heuer has developed a luxury cell phone that embodies the quality and precision found in its wrist watches.

TAG Heuer Meridiist cell phone

The Meridiist is a sleek, high-end cell phone that includes innovative features like a 60.5 carat sapphire crystal screen cover, an alligator leather back, and a mechanical shutter and lens cover for a digital camera. The phone also has a 28-day idle battery life, global compatibility, and a stainless steel body. My favorite feature is the “TAG Heuer Switch” that when pressed, redirects incoming calls to a polite call rejection process.

TAG Heuer has begun to roll-out the Meridiist in some of it’s finest retailers around the world. The phone can be reserved on the company’s site and eventually purchased for a merely 3,950€ ($5,320) to 4,950€ ($6,667) depending on what features you’d like.

  1. Granted, this is a cool looking phone. But it’s a bit out of my price range. Also, it’s not an iPhone and once you go iPhone… you don’t go back.

I have seen other companies try to market phones like this offering all sorts of fancy high-end features. But it never seems to be enough to pull me in. I must say, I do enjoy the Tag Heuer product lines when it comes to watches. However, that might be because of my obsession with Tiger Woods. They are one of the few sponsors that hung on to him after his recent sex scandal. Granted, he is on an indefinite leave of absence for the time being, but he is still on their payroll. Thanks for sharing, this is the first I have seen this phone.

@ricky, I am not sure if they are going for the same market as Apple! Be amusing if Apple brought out a $5000 version. I bet some fans would still buy it..

  3. You are probably right Steve. That’s just a rumor, though, right? There really isn’t a $5,000 Apple machine coming is there? I want one if there is! Oh wait… I see what you did!
